This use to be the place to get the best barbecue. It was crowded but the food isn't the same. The barbecue is bland and even the hush puppies taste different....

"We visited on a Sunday around 1:30 pm after the lunch rush. I feel they must have been short staffed because for the area we were in, there was only one guy with appx. 8 tables. He seemed frazzled. Very, very nice but frazzled to where he would forget items we asked for like vinegar, extra BBQ sauce, salad dressing... Also, they were out of butter for the hush puppies. In a small town like that, I feel someone should have run up to the store and bought some.... You can't really enjoy the puppies without butter. All Southerners know that. Anyway, the food was pretty good. I had a salad, BBQ chicken w/creamed potatoes, and yams. My husband had a salad, hamburger steak w/ creamed potatoes and cabbage. The flavor was good and not overcooked. We will return on our next outing that way."

"Honestly, I can?t complain about a single thing. Our night was amazing, without a doubt. The food was phenomenal, you pay for good quality without a doubt. It was delicious. Started off with the pimento cheese bites, they were amazing. Cooked perfectly and plated beautifully with an amazing jelly-like sauce to eat them with. I had the smoked salmon, which came with broccoli, carrots, and the BEST mashed potatoes (cauliflower mashed potatoes I have ever had. I want the recipe for myself! However, I?m not sure I could do such an amazing job like the chef did tonight. He came out and greeted each table with their meals and was so so attentive and amazing, you can tell he has such a passion for his food and his craft. Honestly, I can?t write enough about our experience. I will never forget it. Make a reservation, show up, and have an amazing time with amazing people surrounded by beautiful decor, and most importantly, eat amazing food. The cinnamon ice cream was to LIVE FOR (too good to die! as well as the flourless chocolate cake. Everything was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal! AND, not just speaking for myself, my boyfriend also loved his Ribeye, it was cooked perfectly! Thanks for an awesome dinner!"

"Can't remember the last time I had a bad experience at a Chick-fil-A. But this one about ticked me off. I get my regular 12-piece large with a gallon of sweet tea because I'm out of town. Mine was a little slow but it is busy it's pushing 5:00 inthe afternoon. First thing they didn't put the cap on the gallon of tea half my fault I guess for not checking but I shouldn'thave to. So now I got half a gallon of sweet tea all over the front of a rental car from the front floor mats to the back floormat on the passenger side. So I'm like okay I'm going to give him a call till the manager hey at least need to check the lidsthere might be something wrong. Guess what dial the number to busy you can't call the place. By this time I'm like I better goahead and eat my nuggets before they get too cold. No worries they weren't even hot anyways."

"Looking for a decent place to eat in Roanoke Rapids while staying for the night. We had read the reviews on line and figured to give it a try. I will say the steak I had was very good. Juicy and tasty. The shrimp skewers were OK, a bit too salty for my liking. We tried the sweet potatoe fries which were good. We had the very good onion rings. My wife tried the salmon and it was too dry for her liking. Stick with the steak options and you should good. My son had a burger that was OK as well. Didn't try any of the desserts. I will say seating outside got us a table fast, but not worth dealing with the huge quantity of flies that settled on your food throughout the meal. I would give this place a 3.5 overall."
