When I arrived at the restaurant, it was bustling with crowds, but I managed to find a peaceful corner to sit in. Despite having to wait for about 20 minutes to place my dinner order, the lovely couple at the table next to me kindly kept an eye on my belongings. I was informed that there would be an hour wait for the food, but to my surprise, it only took 45 minutes for my meal to arrive. I ordered a delicious burger... View all feedback.
What charlotte M doesn't like about The Priory:
Saturday 24th March Breakfast used to be really good, until they changed the sausages recently to really cheap ones. Such a shame, the lovely sausages made it a stand out breakfast. If it was a one off that day, then I will be back View all feedback.
Literally, when we arrived there, the place was dug, (good sign) fortunately there were only 2 of us, otherwise we wouldn't have a table if was booked. eat nice and hot. Tea coffee maker play so coffee not too well. would recommend others.
Be warned the whole group no longer offer discounts under the Meerkat Meals Rewards scheme. They do offer their own rewards scheme via the AP but although the AP stated we were entitled to 20% discount because we had made 4 previous visits we couldn't use the discount because the AP doesn't work properly. The staff were no help either, clueless. This and many other chains inflate the menu prices in order that they can offer large tempting discounts of upto 40% to gain customers. The genuine price is the discounted price so you would be wise to ensure you only use them when the offers are available. To get us to use the restaurant with an incentive of 20% discount then refuse to give us the discount is just dishonest. It's probably a matter for Trading Standards to deal with.
Booked a table for 10 for a birthday meal Bar man was very attentive and polite Food came out all together and piping hot
Had dinner with my son. We arrived when there was a big rush on but we're told food would take some time. Starters came out pretty quick but mains we waited on quite a while. Food was pretty much average for a pub chain but prices were very good for what you get (no side salad but decent serving of chips). My son loved his chicken burger and my burger was well cooked Service was excellent. Bar staff were nice and helpful and food was bought out by Albert who was very helpful and couldn't do more to make us feel welcome. Overall a good place to grab a bite to eat. Would definitely come back.
We waited 45 minutes for the food to come out the steak was off and smelt disgusting the onion rings were cremated the mushrooms were raw and the chips were frozen the manager said the meat was checked regularly clearly not asked if we would like food replaced but we opted for a refund would not recommend anyone eats here
