"There is a lot to say that is great at this unpretentious little hotel. a wonderful view of the coast, great location close to the center, comfortable beds, good breakfast and a good restaurant overall, but really the staff makes the difference. friendly, helpful, efficient....only great people! my wife and I arrived as a long-distance bike tourist and because of a baggage disorder in the last 30 km of Gibson, I lost my bike unit approx. 10 km outside the city. After looking around the esplanade, I mentioned the loss of the hotel reception and they had seen something on facebook. long story short, 24 hours later a good samaritan named shannon, who was a local boilermaker, brought my bicycle to the hotel door. what a legendary one that sees it costs $350 but was its weight in gold for our road safety, but also how switched on were the hotel staff! they had their understanding on the job and made the connections to contact shannon! all the legendary! the workers like these are also worth their weight in gold!"

"This is a very cute cafe in the middle of town, they have excellent tea and coffee. We ordered fish & chips and a vanilla slice. We thought the fish and chips was out of this world. The vanilla slice is very popular, it was tasty but didn't knock our socks off. The service at this establishment is incredible. You order at the counter and the servers bring you the food. They have free internet. The only customer restrooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator."
