"If you love the great outdoors, this is the place for you... There is so much to explore on the Moors that it would take a lifetime. Which is what we plan to do as a family for many moons to come. If you take that leap of faith you can find a trail, find a stream, find an old abandoned mill, find a railway, find a quarry and much much more. The wildlife alone is worth visiting, try and take some carrots to feed the Dartmoor ponies that live there, but be careful... They are for the most part wild! There's sheep, deer, fish and in summer all fantastical types of butterflies. If you haven't already, get your backpack and your boots on and get out there and enjoy it."

"The fact that you have to book a table tells you everything! We had a brunch here yesterday. For years, people have told me that the reason eggs benedict is not hot is due to the sauce potentially splitting.... this place served it hot, nothing was split and it was just fantastic. Today, we rocked up after a very long and hilly walk and had a cream tea with a completely new jam type. Awesome. The ladies who run this know their local stuff and could not have been more friendly and happy to swe us. We loved it and would like to say an enormous thank you to them for the perfect food and ambience. Superstars"

"After a lovely walk on the moors and a visit to the Dartmoor prison museum you get to the lovely village of Princetown and this lovely village pub. It was a lovely sunny and warm Sunday and indoors well a Halloween paradise so well thought out. We opted for 2 Sunday lunches which was delicious and then went to sit outside enjoying more sun in the Garden. We will be back to sample more delights. Great atmosphere in the pub and staff very friendly. Well done."
