Pretty disappointed. I am a frequent diner of this deli, today I sent a sandwich to a relative who really needed a pick me up the order was left and mangled by an animal. This restaurant has great quality food, with friendly staff. It's the best deli in the area. It would be helpful if they could post accurate prices for cold cuts and salads by the pound. Overall, I give them 5 stars.
I have a friend who has dietary restrictions (gluten and nuts), so we decided to try out Captree because they offer gluten-free rolls. We wanted to order a sandwich but needed to confirm there was no almond flour or nuts in the bread. Initially, they couldn't guarantee since they didn't have the packaging, but they provided the brand and source of the bread. While I was researching on my phone, the staff called me back to let me know they checked online and confirmed there were no nuts. I really appreciate the great customer service at this deli!
I used to go here all the time when I worked in West Islip but it’s been a few years. My daughter was in the hospital at Good Sam so we stopped by. Went to the counter to give this woman my order and she sighed as my wife was telling her what she wanted. Then just looked at me with this annoyed face and was wanting me to give her my order but didn’t say anything. When she got our sandwiches she literally threw them in the bag. My wife and I had no idea what we did but we left and we will not be back. Seemed like she may need to retire but that is a bad look when she is the one who is representing your business.
My daughter loves the turkey club from this deli and the staff are very friendly!
Update: It seems like the restaurant is being penny wise but pound foolish. They are still arguing with paying customers, which makes me doubt that they will own up to anything. The staff raised their voice and called someone incompetent. There may have been a miscommunication between my coworker and me, but when I tried to discuss it, I was met with yelling and blamed for the issue. The full story is incomplete as they failed to mention the part where they tried to refund my money and throw away the bacon I returned. I still rate this experience as a 1 out of 5.
