a great deal of the staff of my local tesco who went beyond and beyond, bring me and my niece to drink. their generousness to my niece and their children who flee dw, the toys for the children and the gift card were more than enough to smile and make us feel that gainsborough is the best place to live. read more.

Not the place to go if you're hungry. The crispy chicken in a bun resembled a biscuit, it was so overcooked that it shrunk to oblivion and rock hard and I gave up after one bite. Husband had fish n chips and again the fish was cooked to the point of cremation. Grandson was happy with his sausage and chips so I'll award two stars as at least he ate his meal. read more.

The service was very slow and nearly all the tables were dirty with use food items.It used to be good bjut certainly not worth visiting in the future

"I and my wife came today while we had a couple of children free hours. very impressed, great eating we both had the big breakfast, which was very tasty and a few laughs. the coffee is excellent. definitiw the best in the opposite. the owners and the staff were also very friendly and the caffe had a nice welcoming atmosphere. in any case recommend and will return."

"Reviewed this pub after our visit just over a year ago and gave it 5 stars. We had heard that it had changed hands and reviews seemed more mixed but we decided to ‘give it another go’. Prices have risen, which I suppose is inevitable, so ‘the lunch club deal’ of 2 courses was now £10.45 instead of £8.95. However in our opinion it still represented excellent value for money. The menu was very similar and still included the ‘old-fashioned traditional puddings’. There seemed to be a bit of difference in portion-size between the dishes our group of 4 had………everything was perfectly adequate but some plates were definitely fuller than others! Presentation of the food was perhaps a little lacking but it was well-cooked and very tasty. The place has a good country pub feel, however on this occasion it was much quieter than our previous visit despite being a similar time of year, so we guess it’s less popular."
