I stopped here for a bite and I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed. I went to the BBQ station and got the pulled pork sandwich with two sides. The cole slaw had something spicy in it, which wasn't good, but the mac cheese was alright. The sandwich was dry, but the BBQ sauce was good. I also purchased a cookie and it was hard as a rock. Poorly prepared food, lots of outages, including CO2 for soda. Expensive and slow. Bring yourself a picnic. This so so disappointing.

"My family had the breakfast and dinner buffets, since that was all that was available. The breakfast buffet was good, but the dinner one was highly over priced. There were no signs of what things were, other than 2 that did not match the food, and the staff wasn't sure either. The food seemed overly complex like they felt the need to add extra ingredients to match the price. Simple meat and potatoes after a day of hiking would have been nice. Staff was friendly and helpful at breakfast but seemed worn out by dinner."

"The sweet spot is 4:45-5pm. People start dressing at 15:30 and have to wait until 4:30 until the doors open. As soon as the first wave sits, they begin to hand out pagoda at 4:45 and it is a 30-90min waiting. So you can go, check out Old Faithful or the branch and do not have to wait in the actual line to come. Once in- you have to wait around 20min in the buffet line for your food. So first store and don't plan to go twice. The buffet menu was limited, but everything we had was decent. Not amazing, just decent. But still a good experience and I would do it again. Also there are pipe cream for the apple spear when you ask your server!"

"We were at Yellowstone last week, and enjoyed our stay. The menu at the Obsidian has been shortened, because a shortage of help, a common theme all over the US. My wife and I had the Rainbow Trout, and the Bison short ribs. Both were cooked very well, and we were very satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant..."

"I wish I could give a better rating for an in-park restaurant, realizing their limitations to fresh and locally sourced foods. The Obsidian Dining room does not take reservations for dinner. It made it difficult to wait the one hour time frame we were given before they could seat us. What we chose to do instead was to zip over to the Old Faithful Lodge's cafeteria style dinner. This building is one of several venues in the Old Faithful Village not to be confused with the historic Old Faithful Inn but it was a walkable distance away unless you have mobility issues. Dinner was finished there and as we were heading back to the Snow Lodge our pager went off. We decided to go check it out and have a salad and maybe a dessert since those choices were pretty lacking at the cafeteria. The staff were very nice, I think they get a bit embarrassed by how long they have to tell people they need to wait for dinner. I had a post meal Caesar salad, my husband had the House salad and actually counted two pieces of cherry tomatoes, no other vegetables, just the two bitty tomatoes. The portions were small and covered with croutons. For dessert we tried their Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée Cheesecake with a crispy baby oat crust. I did not see why they called it creme brûlée but I did taste the oat crust which was different. If you like interesting decor this dining room has some unique fixtures and the seating areas were spacious, with warm accents. The dining room was well appointed as was the rest of the lodge."

"Food was pretty good (for a Natl Park restaurant). Server was really nice and attentive. I really liked their pepper and gouda cheese soup. For the record, we went there 45 minutes before closing time and waited 15 minutes for a table."

"Only restaurant opened in Grant Village. The burgers looked really good. Dinner served until 10pm. Breakfast at 630am take out available. Fair beer selection. We stood outside while drinking our beer and saw two large elk graze on by."

"We stopped for an evening for ice cream after dinner. The line was long and slow, even though it looked like they could have been understaffed. They let us try a few samples before you have our flavors and the ones we have decided were all really good with a big portion size."
