"Staying overnight, the hotel front desk recommended Brasserie Fleurimont, which was close by. First impression -- wow, this place is noisy! We rejected the first two places the hostess tried to seat us, as background noise was approaching a painful level. It turned out that the tables nearest the door were least noisy, so we settled there.Drinks menu -- I like drinking local draft beers when I travel. I noticed they listed many draft beers, so I asked which ones were local. Waitress pointed me to Budweiser. Budweiser! (Bud was in the "premium beers" section of the menu) I asked her to check with the bartender. The disappointing response that came back from him was that the restaurant did not offer any local beers, and by local I expanded the definition to be anything brewed in the province of Quebec. They had an entire page of beers, on tap and in bottles, but not a single offering from a nearby brewer.Food: I am somewhat choosy on food, and so my experience may not reflect what others encounter. That said, I try to avoid breading and sweet sauces. That severely limited my choices. I wound up settling on a combo Filet Mignon en Brochette with Shrimp. My wife chose a pork chop. Our server, who was very friendly and accommodating, allowed us to substitute a salad for the bed of rice, and patiently explained our options. (we don't speak French, and her English was only a little better, so it took some time).When the food came out, mine was fine, but my wife's chop was way underdone. We had to wait some time for the server to return, but finally flagged her down, and sent the chop back for more time on the grill. This makes for an unfortunate situation in dining -- I have my food, she doesn't have hers. But it can happen, so you deal with it.Eventually her chop returned. But it still wasn't done. In fact it appeared equally pink as before. Again we had to wait for the server to send the chop back to the kitchen a second time. It seems we waited very long.The third time the server brought the chop, she stood by the table (not uncomfortably close) while my wife checked. Finally, the third time, the meat was cooked through. But I had already finished my entree by this time. On the plus side, the meat was delicious, the side vegetables (beans) were cooked well, the salads were okay.Billing: We asked for the check, and the server brought it. I noted that they had made no effort to compensate us for the undercooked food and inconvenience. I asked the server if she could do anything. She said she could not, but she would ask her manager. (I don't make a habit of sending food back, but typically when it happens management without asking will knock something off the price, and sometimes will even comp the entire entree) I could see my server discussing this, and several other staff members joined in the discussion, but as she returned to my table I knew the result was not favorable. She apologized, and said she was only able to offer us complimentary coffee. We declined, paid our bill, and left.Bottom line, the food was okay, the service was very friendly, but they didn't deal with the cooking problems appropriately, which colored the experience negatively."
