"We were trying to get into the cafe opposite as it had tables in the sun, and it wasn’t immediately obvious where the entrance to the Almshouse is (10 yards down street). The outside seating doesn’t look as appealing as it’s neighbor but once inside it’s a different story. A really nice menu with an excellent selection of cakes and sandwiches and great coffee, served by friendly staff. The Almshouse itself is really pretty inside, with a bookshop, and spiral staircase taking you to more seating. Next time we’re in Axbridge we’ll be heading straight there!"

"Food is always hot and good variety of curry sauces! The chicken on the chips can sometimes taste a bit like water pumped chicken (a bit jelly like) not always though. Despite the hit or miss chicken I would go back again and again. Portions are really really good too."

"Ate here for the first time tonight and it was our one year anniversary! It was a fabulous evening with brilliant food! My girlfriend is veggie and it was really good to be able to have two separate broths and such a range of tofus and veg! We loved the hands on aspect of it it was a very fun date and the food was delicious the perfect hangover cure! The waitress was so lovely, explained everything really well and was super chatty! We loved the little touches for our anniversary made it extra special and was so thoughtful of you guys! We will definitely be back next time we are in Cardiff! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening : !!"
