We've never been to an inn, and we can be pampered forever. This one has a book theme! The lobby is a library/antique bookshop. The 9 guest rooms are named after authors (and are all decorated in different styles. We stay in Tolkien room. Add Alexandra's fresh breakfast on the veranda, and our room windows look over the Champlainsee! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Inn In Westport:
The Inn was nice to the room and amenities. All we needed was available for us. My complaint is that I didn't get any sleep all night because of the constant truck traffic, as the Inn literally sits next to the road. The room was also very bright at night due to the large windows next to the street and the hall lights are all night. AMAZING PLACE TO STAY!!!! I can't say enough about this quaint Inn in Westport! Great location with excellent view of Lake Champlain. Super friendly and accommodating staff. We will DEFINITELY be back!!! :
The Inn at Westport is a quaint hideaway gem! Alexandra Anthony pride themselves in creating an experience that is nothing but relaxing. The rooms are decorated similar to the whimsy of the author the rooms are named by. My husband I stayed in theJ.R.R. Tolkien room. It was decorated as if you would see the artwork and bedding in one of the houses in the Shire. In thebreakfast nook, you have a perfect view of Ballard Park as well as the mountains Lake Champlain. Alexandra loves to talkabout the history of the inn, the town, and the area. She truly is knowledgeable, and was nothing but enthusiastic when speakingof the history of: the inn, the town, and the surrounding area. Her love for: books, incantations, art are all represented intheir own unique way. Again, her enthusiasm for what she does is represented throughout the inn. I couldn't help but get excitedevery time I talked to her. Again, a hidden gem that shouldn't be missed! -Marie Z.
Well maintained old house, in terms of decorations. Very nice library on first floor. House needs some repair to level the floor, to make doors work better, and to seal the window. Old houses always have their charm and characters. Mattress is notvery comfortable. Blanket is old. TV is way too small. Owner is nice. Price is not cheap for everything this inn provides. But it?s a tiny town and it?s probably the most decent inn you can find there.
The Inn was nice as far as the room and amenities. Everything we would have needed was available for us to use. My complaint is that I did not get any sleep due to the constant truck traffic all night long, as the Inn sits literally next to the road. Theroom was also very bright at night due to the large windows next to the street and the hall lights are left on all night. Therooms are very expensive (over $200) considering that the Inn is located in an area where we couldn?t get gas, shop, and we hadto walk 15 mins to a restaurant to eat, which was also well overpriced, so I would suggest eating before you get there. They dooffer breakfast for an additional $20 each, but we declined.
