What Belinda Minard doesn't like about Double R&p:
We went on Valentines night and there was no menu just steak or a filet . We were so disappointed because we are older and was wanting the chopped sirloin but it wasn't even offered. The food was good but won't be back we like to choose what we order because we both have trouble chewing evidently that doesn't matter to them. View all feedback.
My fiancée and I decided to try this place out for our first time. I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious. Felt homemade. Not your average frozen patty big chain burger spot. The prices are reasonable. Would come again. And next time try their steaks. Which we were told it's only Friday to Sunday.
Great place for lunch and Friday night steak nite ... Better call ahead
The salads and sides aren't anything to write home about everything comes from a can, was frozen or in the case of the salad, is a prepacked mix from sysco with some crackers and pre made dressing. What they did get right is the steak, which was the whole reason for going. It was absolutely fantastic. I got the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly I prefer fattier cuts of beef on the medium side of medium well so the fat renders and the person I charge of the grill did it perfectly. Our server was great too! She was attentive but let us enjoy our meal and conversation with minimal interruptions. I don't remember her name, but we were at table 14 around 6:15 or so. If the manager reads this, your server was excellent!
If you’re looking for the next “hidden gem” location, I recommend giving this place a try. It feels like it’s literally in the middle of no where which makes it unique. When you pull up, it looks like an old gas station (they even have the old gas pumps which I believe still work . When you walk in, it’s like walking into Narnia as there are so many different options. On the left-hand side, you have your convenience store with gas station food options. On the right is the main restaurant. In the back you have a boutique and a gun shop. Focusing mainly on the restaurant, they are known for their steaks. Every time I’ve been, the steaks have been cooked to perfection. They typically have a special that includes a large steak (12oz – 15oz , two sides and a salad for $25. Their bread they bring out is excellent and the cinnamon butter is even better. They can accommodate large parties as well (we had 13 people in our party and was able to sit everyone at the big, large round table. The boutique is more country chic but has some neat items. If you’re like my family who is always looking to try a new “Freeze-Dried” Candy, they sell it here. Also, the gun shop is cool. The workers are very knowledgeable and will be happy to answer any questions you have. Their prices are competitive, and they will take care of you. Overall, if you’re looking to fill your belly with some good steak, buy a new gun, try some freeze-dried candy, or buy your lady some country décor at the boutique, then this is your place. Give it a try.
Great folks and some of the best food around! Definitely a hidden gem!
