"Amazingly cooked food! Modest atmosphere, very friendly Italian staff and cook, who I think serves his food too. So much enjoyment! I whole page of vegan options. No kids menu, but they made a small version of an adult dish for us. A very authentic Italian experience!"

"Group dining is not the best basis for judging a restaurant. Our experience was that mass catering is not necessarily a forte here. The service was quick and efficient but the precise care needed for fine dining was missing when dealing with a large group. Perhaps it’s better when a small number. The menu was imaginative but just failed to deliver on quality. The staff were very helpful. It wasn’t a disaster by any means."

"We waited especially for a special Sunday treat to go here. The Hong Kong style noodles were exceptional, quite the best I 've ever had and commented as such. Meanwhile, the beef and vegetables were appallingly over-cooked as though they had been boiling since opening time. Awful mush. The carrots and wild cabbage were practically puree. No apology was made, no replacement offered. I assume the real chef lets the 'local dish ' chef just walk away. A baffling experience which we won 't try again."

"Lunch was wonderful. Mushroom on toast was that and so much more. Brie cheese just melted and fresh zingy dressing on good bread and firm meaty mushrooms. Both fish dishes plaice and sea bass were delicious. Both totally different with big flavours that complimented everything. Citrus, fennel, caraway etc. A restaurant with a real identity cooking super food. Great front of house staff also"
