I had never tried Peruvian style charbroiled chicken until I visited El Pollo Rico a few years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. What Bianca G Martinez doesn't like about El Pollo Rico:
Do not eat here if you do not want to get food poisoning. The fries are extremely hard and greasy, making you want to throw up. There is more bone than meat in the dishes. I used to love this place, but it has seriously declined in quality. This is the second time I have gotten sick from eating here and the fourth time I have been extremely disappointed. A friend wanted to prove to me that authentic Peruvian chicken does exist in the DMV, he was right. All they do is Peruvian chicken and they did it right.

The chicken is good but I just wish they didn't charge extra for Yucca as a side order.
Picked up food to bring to a friend's Housewarming Birthday party. Food was incredible. I could eat it all day long. Chicken, coleslaw, yucca fries were delicious.
Almost the best Peruvian style chicken in the world! The winner is The ORIGINAL ELPollo Rico in Arlington VA. These special offer more pages than those in VA BUT... VA started this franchise and has a significantly better taste for her chickens...
