We sat at the bar for dinner due to the potential wait time for a table. Due to us not drinking alcoholic beverages, we werent given much attention by the bartender/server. It took longer than usual to get service, get our bill and be able to pay to leave. I would highly recommend waiting for a table. View all feedback.
What MJBB doesn't like about Gia Mia Wheaton:
Middle of the road food wise for the price. Upbeat service on a Saturday afternoon. Music was loud and the pizza kitchen area loud if you're seated across from it. View all feedback.

The weather was nice enough to dine outside. The open white tents protected us against the harsh sun.
Hello, I had the opportunity to come to Gia Mia for the first time ever on July 22nd. We would be a table of seven with two high chairs. We got there and 8 for an 8:15 reservation. They were super busy but eventually a hostess named Sophie approached me. I told her that I’m here for the two reservations that my sister in law had made. On her own she asked me do you want to sit together to which I replied yes! Backstory earlier when my sister in law had called they told her they could seat the tables nearby but not all of us together due to prior big party reservations. Anyways, so to my surprise when Sophie said you want me to seat you all together immediately I said yes! She was so polite walked around restaurant to see where she could possibly put us together. Than she came back to the front the hostess that was standing by the phone and iPad. I didn’t catch her name but she was wearing a white tank with jeans. Sophie asked her do you think we could sit these tables together? To which she started to snap and in a condescending way pointing to the iPad no! There is no way and just goes off how it’s not possible, finally takes a breath and asks, “are they here?” To which Sophie who clearly looked uncomfortable by how she was speaking said yes lol pointing to me. The girl changed her demeanor a bit and told me yea no sorry can’t sit y’all together to which I replied it’s not that serious, I only was trying to see if it’s possible since we had a bunch of kids with us. Anyways, they pointed at two tables and said we can sit you next to each other. Just waiting for the other table to wrap up dinner. At this point I was feeling a bit upset by how that hostess was speaking and I was standing with my six year old too. I didn’t want her to feel anything or see that this hostess had very bad attitude and was upsetting me so I kept quiet. My sister in law came in a short while after me and asked them about the tables and than I noticed the two separate table they visually pointed to me saying they would sit us at they had sat another party. Than this other hostess with very long hair and a dress on came up to me and said that she can try to make it work to have us sit together outside and I told her that’s fine.. the goal for them was to combine two tables together. So now as we are waiting outside, I finally see them cleaning two tables right next to each other and thinking it’s probably for us… wasn’t the case. The hostess that was rude sat a couple down on one of the tables. Confused a bit annoyed having to keep a 2, 3, and 6 year old standing for over 30 mins now we inquired that we thought they were waiting for two tables to clear out to seat us. She acted super confused and said we were gonna sit you guys at a “bigger table” points to the same size tables behind where she sat the couple. My sister in law was so confused and said aren’t they the same size? Again she just walked off. They eventually combined two tables for us and we sat down at 8:45 nearly. I got there at 8 for an 8:15 reservation to be sat down at 8:45 with little kiddos. If it wasn’t for the fact I came with family and my kids were wanting Mac and cheese I would’ve left. The hostess was very rude and her demeanor, honestly looked like she could’ve cared less that we waited. Twice she sat people down in tables and areas she told us would’ve been for us. I understand restaurants get busy and I get it can be stressful but man a simple smile and empathy towards customers can go a long way. I hope a manager or owner speaks to me because I really don’t think her behavior was acceptable. I’m just one review calling her behavior out can’t imagine how many other people she’s been rude to!
Had the lunch special outside. Food and service was great, couldn’t believe how loud it was outside under the tent Next time I’ll eat inside
Great selection of delicious appetizers and salads! You can taste that the dishes are made with the freshest ingredients. The Downtown Wheaton location and a friendly staff make this a top neighborhood pic!
