Had a Groupon for buy one get one free entre. My wife and I stopped in on a very wet and cold early afternoon. The waitress/manager was cheerful and friendly, the atmosphere cozy and welcoming. We had Gung Pao Chicken and Salt & Pepper Prawns. The food was cooked to perfection, the flavours were exquisite and with notable spiciness. Delicious! No problem with the Groupon even at lunchtime. We will return for more.... View all feedback.
What Maverick King doesn't like about Beijing Restaurant:
Returning home from the Semiahmoo Rod & Run Club we decided to take the longer but scenic route back to Richmond. Along Marine Drive we spied the Beijing Restaurant and decided to enjoy our evening meal there. We ordered hot and sour soup, salt and pepper squid, green beans with minced meat, beef brisket with lo bak (white radish) and of course rice. Our meal was nicely prepared and arrived in a timely fashion. View all feedback.
I have dined at the Beijing 3 times and all the food has been excellent. Very similar to the food in Beijing China. The service was good and the restaurant is not crowded. My only caution is they have a very limited wine selection and the cheapest wine is not drinkable. The red wine at $40 is good. The owner is very hospitable and makes it a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
My wife & I went for lunch on a Wednesday in July. We were using a Groupon we had recently purchased. The service was the worst we've experienced in years. It took more than 90 minutes to get all of our order and the restaurant was anything but busy. Our server did not speak very good English so asking about dishes was next to useless. He was also dressed in torn track pants that should be thrown away. When we first asked about our order more than 40 minutes had already passed. We were told that they were a bit slower because we were using a Groupon - at least that's what we heard (language barrier). Ultimately I would give the food a 2 star and service 1. I would not recommend.

This is a wonderful place in a long line of restaurants dotting Marine Drive in White Rock. The service was excellent and the food as well. What we had, a prawn dish and a veggie dish with bok choy and mushrooms, tasted fresh and crisp. I also greatly enjoyed the hot and sour soup as an appetizer. In spite of ordering a cup they brought out a bowl and said right away that the extra soup was on the house. I will definitely go there again soon.
Enjoyed our dinner to the fullest at this restaurant, Efficient staff, fresh food, and inexpensive, what more could one ask for!
