service was very good, fresh eating too very cheap trips. I had the “Gringa” with steak and the enchiladas with chicken sauces were full of taste and the food was very delicious. a “must try” when they come to Whitehorse for a visit. I have dessert from the restaurant tonight, I have tried the flan that was very good. it wasn't too sweet just perfect. View all feedback.
What MomBear doesn't like about Sanchez Cantina:
Ordered a chicken quesadilla.......tiny corn tortilla with a couple shreds of chicken.....I think I acutally got a tast of cheese in one bite......the tortilla itself was crispy only on the top, the bottom half was totally soggy..... The tables and chairs were so packed, only 6-12 inches between tables and chairs......waitstaff had to squeeze through sideways hoisting the trays and plates directly over people's heads... This local restaurant was best value we got on our whole trip. The meal was excellent. The service was wonderful and staff friendly.
The food at this Mexican restaurant Oaxacan cuisine) was awesome…..the best we have had outside of Mexico…memorable!
Very mediocre. We went twice, just to be sure (and because let's face it, there's not that many choices in town) and both times, the food was disappointing. We had the enchiladas and tacos. Food was blend. Even the spicy option was blend. On the bright side, portions are large. It's a great restaurant for an after work drink and snack (nice sangria, decent guacamole and chips) but the food is a let down.
The food was absolutely fabulous. I was tempted to lock my plate. We had a simple shrimp dish as a starter and it was amazing. With the main, be sure to order the black beans as a side. You won't be disappointed
We ordered a chicken and beef burrito dish. They were good sized portions and it came with two sides. We asked for the rice and beans with both orders. What we didn’t realize was that there was already beans in the burritos, so we got a lot of beans with the meal. We have travelled quite a bit and had authentic Mexican food. Even though the meal was tasty, it missed the authentic Mexican taste. I ordered extra spicy it was good, not overly hot. Nice atmosphere to eat in and they have an outdoor patio.
