I was thrilled to see this place open up in Whiting. Their food does not disappoint whether eating in or ordering take out. Some of my favorites include the torta ahogada or the torta de azada. Something I can also appreciate about Chela’s is that they continue to evolve and experiment to cater to their clientele. read more.

What User doesn't like about Chela's Birria Tacos:
Birria tacos were too dry, with little flavor. They offer alcohol, they don’t tell you that the frozen margarita is premixed and has no alcohol. Steak tacos was little too no flavor. No lettuce, read more.

Look forward to the diverse, delicious Mexican cuisine, traditionally prepared with corn, beans and chilies (hot peppers).

Food was way too hot for my liking. This something they should e explained being that it was our first time there.

"Went there today around noon. (6/28/2022) The young ladies who took my order was friendly and helpful. But when the women who brought me my food was so rude and ugly. I asked about the pepper that asked to be put on the side because I didn't see them. She snapped and raised her voice at me and said I put them in the bag and walked away. I told to calm down. I will never go there again and I will tell everyone one know about the rudeness. I spent this time $25.00. Never again. I work to hard for my money to be treated that way."
