Out of the ordinary culinary experience. You need to be at ease, not in a hurry as our meal was served after 1.5 hours from ordering. during this time you will get to know mr. Valentino who is the ONLY person that works here. He is the chef, waiter and Barman, all in one. You can order only pasta as a main course but…it’s worth the waiting as it’s extraordinary. He didn’t let us pay for a half portion that remained i... View all feedback.
What Nelson Martins doesn't like about Stella Marina:
The reviews had made me excited that I was stumbling on a relatively undiscovered gem. Alas, no. The arugala with parmesan was dressed in absolutely exquisite olive oil -- I thought, this meal will be fantastic! I ordered the bucatini al'amatriciana, a dish I have had many times before, and it was good, but nothing to rave about. It was perfectly seasoned (just the right spicy kick) but otherwise fairly bland, and it... View all feedback.
The best home made pasta I ever had. Even better than in Italy. We ordered pasta with clam, black pasta with shrimps and pasta balognesa
Amazing pasta!! Would highly recommend for anyone seeking authentic Italian food in Vienna. The chef is incredibly talented. Will definitely be visiting again.
It was one of the best restaurants experiences in my life! It was a man. The waiter greeted us and said that there was no menu and announced the pastas he does today. He took our order and disappeared and we understood that he was also the cook that will make our pastas. The atmosphere here is more Italian than in Italy playing with the cute little tables, paintings on the walls and Italian music. The parts were big. Although it was not the delicate pasta in my life, I received a great pleasure to eat it. The black noodles were super nice. When it comes to the moment, the waiter/Koch just wrote the amount on piece of paper give us the discount (because I don't finish my dish). That was very sweet. He also refused to take any tips. And you can only pay with cash. A real Italian experience in the heart of Vienna!
This place is the definition of a hidden gem. My friends and I spent the semester abroad in Vienna and we can confidently say that this is the best restaurant in the city. We came in the first week we were here, and it became the experience we were looking forward to every Wednesday of our semester. Valentino is the owner and, as the other reviews say, he is also the host, waiter, cook and cleaner. Whether he is an amazing cook, he is the most authentic person who has tried to talk to us every week, despite a very clear language barrier. I can say I've tried the whole menu and the curtains are definitely the burrata, shrimp scampi, and the Arrabbiata (but everything is amazing). It's just cash, but Valentino refuses to take tips, and everything is quite expensive...almost too expensive. Highly recommend to skip many of the other famous Italian spots in this city and give this place a chance.
Best experience in Vienna! The owner is a fantastic person and the food is AMAZING... That was certainly the best spaghetti Carbonara I had in the last 10 years.... Super recommended!
