We reserved a table for lunch (glad we did as it gets very busy during weekends). My husband had mountain pork chop and I had tortellini with figues/nuts and a creamy sauce. What User doesn't like about Summit Chaeserrugg:
Great view, in all directions. New building designed by top architects Herzog de Meuron, wood everywhere. We only had a sausage but what I saw of the food was distinctly average (and sadly common) for anywhere on top of a mountain- unless you go to a top resort. View all feedback.

I can understand the mixed reviews as this place does not fit any typical expectations people might have... we loved it precisely for that reason. We had lunch in the self service side the Toggenburg plättli of local meats and cheeses and lightly pickled vegetables was large and outstanding, the mixed salad was surprisingly good, flavorful and very fresh, and the chunky chips (french fries) were the best we've ever had. Super hot and crispy. Well done! The highlight of our afternoon, though, was the flourless chocolate cake on the full service side of the restaurant. Fantastic! Service was good when we were there, but the place was almost empty.
By the way, die letzte Talfahrt war heute um 22:00 Uhr ...
