"The nostalgia of this place is great, but the food is equally impressive. The burgers come in small(1/4), medium(1/2) and large(1lb). The house made frits and chips are great. They also make their own Pimento cheese, which can come on a burger or as a diver for the homemade chips. Wilkesboro has a fairly clean downtown with a spray coating and Corn-Loch-Boards right opposite the road of Dooley's"

"Terrible experience! My daughter ordered the gluten free rotini and ended up with spaghetti noodles in her dish that she didnt see until she was halfway through, so before we even left her stomach was in knots. Glasses were empty most of the meal, ended up eating salad off the appetizer plates, had a stack of salad bowls, plates from the appetizers and the appetizer's serving dishes on the table the whole meal. Server wasn't around most of the time until it was time to pay the check and the card kiosk didn't work. So she handed me the bill and stood over me while I was reviewing the bill and she reeked of cigarettes."

"This place was recommended by a local resident and it was not disappointed at all. we had the flounder and the cats and it was great! portions were plentiful and everything was on point even the service. I have forgotten to take pictures because it was so good, but the other Google reviews speak for themselves. we drove an hour and a half to see the snow found a wonderful place to eat.Highly recommend?"

"Tonight after graduation the family and I decided to go to Cagney’s Kitchen in Wilkesboro. This was only my 2nd time at this Cagney’s location but we frequent the locations in and around Winston often with no issues. Tonight was a different story. I realize the cost on most everything has went up. I’m not naive to the fact that things have changed since Covid and I would not consider myself a greedy person. I ordered a 2 item combo with popcorn shrimp and white fish. The pic below shows the serving size. Now let’s be honest..90% of the time when you order this same thing at any other restaurant…the shrimp would be falling off the plate. You can easily make 2-3 meals from this usual order. That’s what I expected for $16.95. I honestly thought it may have just been a mistake so I kindly asked our server if this was the normal and she informed me that she would speak with her manager. The manager Arjan sent her back to inform me that because it was a combination plate they only give half servings. In my mind it should then be half the price. The shrimp were cold and had a weird aftertaste. The fish was decent. The squash was also cold and tasted like old grease. I asked that Arjan come speak with me and I began to explain my issues and asked that my meal be discounted. His response was “well that’s just how it is”. I said well then have it your way.. a bad review will be coming. He was extremely rude. Made several comments such as “what gives you the right to ask for a discount” and “I don’t care about your review”. He then proceeded to walk away. Sooo…here ya go Arjan Dede. For those of you that frequent this establishment I would think twice, but if you insist I would recommend requesting Reina as your server. She’s absolutely awesome. I just hate she has to work under such inconsiderate and disrespectful management."
