You have an early bird special between lunch and dinner. The fried chicken and pulled pig were excellent! The first time that NC style pulled pork and was impressed by the vinegar style pulled pork! The Mac and the cheese were also amazing. The lush puppies were lovely! The roasted maize bread, roasted okra and cornnuggets were good, but after a few bites I got fried food fatigue. What User doesn't like about Jackson's Big Oak Barbecue:
Was once one of my favorite BBQ places. The service has become a lot less friendly, though they get a pass because of COVID. The food however isn't as good. The pork is dry, the Mac and cheese bland. I hope this is just a temporary thing, as this restaurant has been around forever, for a good reason. View all feedback.

Not from NC, so maybe. The sweet tea was definitely sweet, but after a bite of the peach cbbler, the tea was no longer sweet! Great prices! I would definitely go back, but order unsatisfied pages because the hush puppies and fried maize bread come to any meal. The fried Okra didn't get out well so the server got us extra corn bugs and fried us a fresh batch! Sit at the table hot!
Your slogan says something about the effect of “we are not fancy, but we are sure good.” That could not be more true! The interior is nothing special, but the food and value were both exceptional. We came right there when it opened and the place was packed (always a good sign! Would highly recommend.
Excellent grill! We visit here every year when we are in town. Make sure to get a fresh batch of pork tubers (not in the menu). We were randomly in a night when they had Brisket, and that could just be our new favorite. The fried chicken is also quite impressive!
Large grill and beautiful oak tree back with picnic tables.
First time here today and I’ve never had better bbq. Such nice service from the takeout window and super quick too! Sweet tea is delicious and the corn nuggets are so good too!! Also only $20 for two huge portions, drinks, and sides!! Will definitely be back asap
