What User doesn't like about New China:
I have ordered from New China many times over the years and raved about how good it was but now a guess there are new owners and it is not the same. I ordered Honey Glazed Shrimp and it was 90% breading and 10% shrimp for $13. I took it back and they apologized and remade it for me. Here is a photo of the remade shrimp. I had breakfast this morning and decided to give this restaurant a try. I ordered the shrimp and lobster soup, and it was excellent! It was unlike any other Chinese restaurant I've been to, but in a really good way. I will definitely be back for more.
This is the best place to dine in the city! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. It was an overall fantastic experience!
New China features a chic interior and an affordable menu. The crab rangoons were outstanding, with the accompanying brown sauce truly stealing the spotlight. We ordered four types of sushi: the Sex Kimberly, sweet potato rolls, Philly rolls, and spicy tuna. Everything was delicious, although the portions were quite large and sometimes difficult to chew; however, my dining companion had no issues with it. We also tried the hot sushi, which I highly recommend if you haven't experienced it before—it's a great alternative to the cold version. All of this came to just $40.
The waiter was not very helpful during our visit. We dined in for lunch, and the cost per person was around $30-50. I would rate the food a 3, the service a 2, and the atmosphere a 3.
