"We were a group of 10 and came here on August 25th. we sat outside, which was nice. the waitress was great like the maitre d. they couldn't do enough for us! very smily and helpful! the starters were delicious, the white, calamari. and the garnels had a slight teig and were simply beautiful. the filled mushroom starter was incredible! the main thing was also delicious. every job was there! smily beautiful staff. the desserts were very impressive, huge, beautifully presented and very tasty. lots of parking and a playground for children. what a great place if they love to eat Italian, it is a must to visit!"

"Staff were wonderful and friendly, we had a HUGE order (we're talking sides, starters, mains, desserts- the works) and they got everything correct. The food itself was delicious- especially the churros. Would definitely eat here again!"

"Five stars for the pflüger alone! If you don't have a big appetit, you might need a friend to finish it! friendly staff, although it is super busy about the bank holiday, and a beautiful, characterful old building where you sit."

"We decided to treat ourselves to a curry tonight after quite a few months. All of it was disappointing. Items were missing from the order and one meal was very oily and not particularly appetising. We tried phoning but there was no reply. A really disappointing treat. ."

"When I walked in I was greeted by Tian she made me feel really welcomed and then took the time to not only walk me across the road to my beautiful room at the hotel but also explained things to me on to get in and out. When I went in the room it’s awesome and reminded me of a stay I had in Paris. There was little nice things, bottles of water on the side, a coffee and tea box with loads of coffee bags, loads of milks (instead of the usual 2 that you get in most hotels which is never enough) cookies and twyingins tea. The power shower was great and it was lovely and clean and the beds were great sank right in them. I’m the bathroom was little niceties like soaps, shower gels which had ginsing in (it’s the little things right) I then went to the restaurant after a shower and Tania had booked me a table in the corner right by the fire (she recognised I was a single guy by myself got me a lovely quiet table with a bench seat) I had a steak, with pepper corn sauce skinny fries, peas with garlic butter and garlic bread with cheese. There was a great selection of real ales and ciders (I’m a cider drinker) She kept checking on me to make sure everything was ok tbh she was rushing around like r2d2 and had everything in hand. Great place and I will be staying again. "Had a lovely meal on Sunday at the Royal Oak. Sunday roast was excellent, everything homemade. Best Sunday lunch i have had in a long time. service was also good as nothing seemed to be a problem. Will definitely return to this. definitely worth a trip."
