This is my local, although I don 't do any take-outs often. I always have fish and chips, sometimes mushy pes, sometimes just fish without batter, (ordered at least 15 minutes before. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. If having chips I always have to say 'not so many, please! ' sometimes I say 'can you give them another minute, please? ' Very generous. We have just had the unfortunate experience of getting a takeaway from here. My cheese onion pie was obviously microwaved and was like eating a lump of cardboard (although cardboard would certainly have more flavour), the chips were lukewarm, soggy and probably reheated from lunchtime.
