great food, great people. "We went to Brae for our wedding anniversary. It had been on my list for years, and this was the perfect reason to tick it off the bucket list. I had read many reviews, so knew the standout would be the accommodation, which didn’t disappoint. It was modern, spacious, and relaxing. Very lovely. However, I wasn’t sure what to expect regarding the food based on what I had heard from others. Disappointingly, we were underwhelmed by the food. I’m not quite sure how to explain it, other than we only loved 2 of the dishes, and we didn’t finish a few dishes because they weren’t very nice (even basic things, like the bread and home made butter). Some flavours were strong and overpowering, and other dishes were bland the balance was off. There were limited non alcoholic drinks on the menu for those not drinking. In our view, our lunch was certainly not worth the price tag, and I’d be spending my time and money at other fine dining restaurants instead."

"I do not write often critiken unless the place goes over expectations in a positive or negative direction. in this case it is for the latter. we arrived on a Saturday afternoon and ordered the dead of the day and the minute steak. 45 minutes later, after we had asked the waiting staff how our food went, we served: kuchen- appeared microwaves; Maische-not bad, but I ordered chips; and minute steak/ roast potatoes and carrot warm. Finally, a pretty bad performance for the standard pig fees. winchelsea is a beautiful city in a great location on the river barwon and we thought it would be a good place to visit and to eat at lunchtime. a really nice city, but the pub really...read more"

"Kerry, Mum I had lunch today and I am here to tell you our meals were absolutely amazing. We shared garlic bread. I had the trio of sliders while Kerry Mum had Baked Salmon with seafood marinara sauce sourdough bread. Beau, the young man who greeted us upon arrival later took our order delivered our meals to our table could not have been more friendly cheerful obliging Thank you Mount Moriac Hotel beautiful"
