"We had afternoon tea and everything was delicious, lovely sandwiches, warm scones and tasty cakes. The cakes were proper sliced cakes and not the silly little taster cakes you can sometimes get. A lovely warm welcome from all the staff and we were given a box to take home what we couldn't eat. The best high tea we have ever had. We will definitely be going back again."

"Absolutely amazing food and such friendly staff! My parents stumbled upon NUR while in Hastings for the weekend and liked it so much that they returned with my extended family the next day. A wide ranging menu that catered to a variety of needs, massive portions too. I had the beef stroganoff and would highly recommend it. Steaks and pasta also looked great. Really recommend a visit if you are in the area."

"When I'm in Rye and up for breakfast or lunch The Fig is my first go to place: small, nice vibe, good coffee, dog friendly and always vegan options (I sometimes was too late for vegan cake, though). At the moment (January 2018) their small menu contains 4 vegan dishes: spicy meican beans on toast wth guacamole and mixed leaf. Squash, red pepper and spinach dahl with coconut yoghurt and flatbread. (my favourite) Falafel wrap with spicy harissa, slaw and rocket. Slow roasted tomatoes on toast with marmite, basil oil, pea shoots and toasted seeds."
