Excellent service and coffee. Extensive brunch menu with enjoyable Persian feta and potato croquette with kale (and cold corn). Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful View all feedback.
What Leta Schiller doesn't like about Dukes Coffee Roasters:
Menu items are trying to be trendy but come up short. They are a bit gimmicky and seem to all be the "chef's take on ...." or "deconstructed ...." basically using the buzzwords from masterchef of 1995. A good pairing is something to behold, but these combos didn't work very well.Annoyingly, there was a large plany on out table which caused lots of gnats to be flying around us.Coffee was OK. Food was poor. View all feedback.
Food solid.. waiters friendly.. counter staff and baristas thought they were too good to bother with the clientele.
Came here on a weekday for lunch. It was super busy so I grabbed a seat next to the window. This is a local fav and I can see why. I had a double espresso and cured beetroot salmon. It was served with poached eggs, quinoa, kale, feta and herbs. Serving was reasonable. The total was AUD25.
Had breakfast here with friends this morning. Had to wait 30minutes for a table but the staff were friendly and helpful while we waited. Menu was quite different to the usual breakfast fare on offer. Had some typical favorites likes eggs Benedict and waffles but each had their own little spin on them. Great if you want something out of the ordinary. I had the breakfast ramen and thought it was great. Coffees were fantastic. Usual pricing for a cafe breakfast but all dishes had something unique. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Maybe try making a booking for a Sunday morning if you're a group though as it was busy the whole time we were there. Will be back to try the waffles!
This must be one of the better new entrants to the competitive Melbourne cafe scene. Besides the nice vibe (enhanced by the lighting), the service is friendly, the coffees great & menu decent. We had the fried chicken burger(nice flavors), & supergrains saladLocated near the Prahran market, in improving Windsor
