"My dad and I are on a road trip to Central Iowa coming from Northern California. We were passing through Winnemucca Nevada when we noticed the Toasted Tavern. We thought to ourselves that it looked like a good place to have a bite to eat for dinner. We entered the building, found a seat and waited for our server. Our server took so long to the point where I pulled out my stopwatch and said to my father I 'll give it one more minute for a server to come and after that minutes up we 're going to leave . To my surprise 30 seconds later our server came ready to take our order. We now wish they were another 30 seconds late! I ordered the steak sandwich, my dad ordered the ribeye steak, with a side salad. Our food came out in a reasonable time. Unfortunately when we were served our food we thought it was a joke at first. The portion sizes we 're more fitting for an elf! The ribeye steak could be compared two slices of lunchmeat. It wasn 't even half an inch thick. My dad said he had never been served a ribeye so small. Also the Mash potatoes that were served equal to about 3 tablespoons. Did I not catch a sudden spike in potato costs?! As for the steak sandwich which I had asked to be prepared medium, it was prepared between medium rare and rare. Again, my portion sizes were quite small. I 'm confident that I could 've finished my sandwich with four regular sized bites. Finally the side salad my dad ordered never even arrived for us to pass judgment on! To be honest, the best part of the restaurant is the feeling you get when you walk out of the door to go to a different restaurant down the road. The service was totally unacceptable. We ended up sending the food back and paying for the beer that was ordered. If you were ever in Winnemucca Nevada I highly advise you not eat at this atrocity of a restaurant!"
