"Tried it for the first time ordering from Skip. Had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. We just wanted some comfort food so I ordered the loaded burger with fries and we also ordered the 3 piece chicken. I can't stand restaurants...who hold back the fries and provide maybe 10 15 fries since they are really not expensive. The Burger was great but definitely messy which was o.k. and a generous order of fries which leaves you very full when done! The chicken I believe is air fried? It was also apparently good so I will try that next time as they just gained a new customer!"

"The restaurant was very clean. I ordered Nick 's cheeseburger deluxe , with side of gravy and s Sprite and ice water. Yes, the burger was juicy and overall good. Was it anything special to me? Not so much. In addition, they don 't accept debit cards or credit cards. Have to pay extra at their atm to pay they 're bill. That is a big negative for me and that 's ultimately where the waitress 's tip went to."

"First off, I have recommended this place any chance I get. We have gone there during Covid and supported it as it was a community area small business we love. The food is beyond amazing, the staff, always fantastic. Honestly, we do love it...and then...tonight happened. We went out as a family. My husband and I and our son. We all live in the same house. We wore masks coming in and were seated promptly. Everything was as it always was perfect. About minutes into being there two gentlemen came in, both wearing masks and sat at the same table. No problem. We wondered if they were from the same household, but hey, live and let live. Then two other gentlemen came in, again, both wearing masks and sat at a table feet away as they are seating people properly which is great. Then, things get a little odd...another gentleman walks in, again wearing a mask, and joins the first two men. It was clear they were not from the same household and again, live and let live. The two tables were chatting to each other from feet away, all good, THEN, one of the folks from the first table, gets up, walks over to the second set of gentlemen that came in and proceeds to stand at the table, with no mask and chats with them for at least minutes. During this time, the server has come and gone from both of these tables twice. Not a word was said about returning to their own table, or at the very least, putting on a mask. To make matters worse, the gentleman behind the bar, who I am assuming (and this may be totally incorrect) is the owner is chatting away with all of them. Nothing was said. Right now in Manitoba, none of this is allowed. On my way out, I did speak with the person behind the bar and told them look, we love this place and support you but this is not cool. He said he would talk to them. I said, it is clear you know them, so if you are ok with it what is there to say. I explained I have kids working at other restaurants who are getting yelled at by folks like this as they are told they have to enforce the new rules to protect the restaurant industry from yet another shut down. I told him, truly, I love this place, but will not be back until this is over. I want all MB business, especially my small neighbourhood places to make it through this, but doing this is exactly why all restaurants keep getting shut down. So for our family, we are out. Olympia Diner has been our go to for years, even when new ownership came in, but this, jeopardizing all restaurants’ ability to stay open makes absolutely no sense to me. Love Olympia, but you are better than this. Support local that goes for all of us. You as a business need to ensure you are doing your part so that ALL of you can stay open."
