"We were trying to get into the cafe opposite as it had tables in the sun, and it wasn’t immediately obvious where the entrance to the Almshouse is (10 yards down street). The outside seating doesn’t look as appealing as it’s neighbor but once inside it’s a different story. A really nice menu with an excellent selection of cakes and sandwiches and great coffee, served by friendly staff. The Almshouse itself is really pretty inside, with a bookshop, and spiral staircase taking you to more seating. Next time we’re in Axbridge we’ll be heading straight there!"

"Was somewhere to eat in the east street and hasn't liked anything. I remembered the toast room I never was, but the outer is memorable for its beautiful turquoise color and woodmarks. I chose an salad plate and it was so delicious and tasteful! I rarely choose salat (I feel that it is too boring), but that was excellent I am not sure what it was all, but it had delicious spiced chipotle butter bean as well as green bean (usually boring again, right) but these were so delicious and zitrus! and a few sweet, crispy red cabbage type stuff, as well as some sharp bumblebees. I ate it all and it cost only £5.50 and was actually very full! highly recommended! (photo taken after I had already begun digging)"

"The food was amazing, especially since they only used fresh products and their home-made dips are a must-try! The staff were really polite, helpful and it didn't take long for our food and drinks to arrive. The restaurant also has great decor and you should definitely eat there if you're in Bristol!"

"Got here! no warning. best food! booked a table of a recommendation from a friend, mistakenly appeared early, the host greeted us and sat us as soon as possible, really inviting. we asked for additional starters and they were happy to make the adjustment, and I don't even think they added it to our final bill. eating came in good time and was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. I loved the wobblebhaji. we had free poppadome 4 different sauces and a dessert to share. this is by far the best service I have ever received and I personally was not a fan of Indian cuisine before I came to visit here, I am rebuilt! will definitely return. the whole food is beautifully presented, tastes exquisite and the team are so beautiful, polite and have a little laugh with them!"
