Ruth's Chris Steak House - Winter Park

Lori and the server staff took great care of us. They are exactly when we needed them and not there when we just wanted to chat amongst ourselves. The food was prepared perfectly and our extra hot plate came right on time. Thank you so much. I really dislike the elevated volume of the music in the primary dining room. I find it intrusive.

Salmon was fishy. Tasted like a dead fish off the beach. Filet 8oz med was dry with not an ounce of butter on it. AuGratin potatoes were cut into squares rather than slices and not cooked tender. Creamed spinach was good. Bread was good. Overall the old building had much more charm. New decor is not elegant or special.

Steaks and sides were good. Service was attentive and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Waitress, Abigail, was busy but she was very attentive to our table in spite of being busy. She hustled.

The food was fantastic, as always, the service a bit lacking, reminders required for requests more than once. We prefer bar area seating, right at the bar is better than bar table in terms of service.

My wife cutting her filet mignon was a great Mother's Day present. The prices are sky-high, but it's such a treat to get food and drinks that helped to justify the expense. My New York Strip was fabulous, as were the tuna tartare and goat cheese dip appetizers, sweet potatoes and baked potato. The service was attentive without being irritating. It was a memorable experience.
