Gaynor and her team operate a well-loved café that is popular with customers. Their takeaway options and Sunday lunches are particularly popular. You can also phone in your order. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. View all feedback.
What Smurphy6000 doesn't like about Guine Gap Cafe:
My husband popped in this morning and ordered a breakfast for himself and a tuna Mayo and cheese jacket potato for me, now we’ve been here before and the jacket potato was lovely last time (my husband needed to run over to the shop to get tin of tuna though as the cafe didn’t have any in.. but this time it was just an absolute joke- I opened it and it was a tiny potato, no salad, with cheese and a tin of dry tuna jus... My husband popped in this morning and ordered a breakfast for himself and a tuna Mayo and cheese jacket potato for me, now we’ve been here before and the jacket potato was lovely last time (my husband needed to run over to the shop to get tin of tuna though as the cafe didn’t have any in.. but this time it was just an absolute joke- I opened it and it was a tiny potato, no salad, with cheese and a tin of dry tuna just tipped over the top.. no Mayo in sight.. so dry it went in the bin.. clearly Gaynor couldn’t be bothered this morning. Very disappointed, won’t be back again.
We always call in when we can, the staff always greets us with a smile. The meals are consistently delicious, it's a shame we can't visit more frequently. We usually opt for the big breakfast, and all the dishes are freshly cooked.
The best breakfast bin lids in Wallasey! Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble Food is well cooked an plentiful
The food was fantastic. I had the special of the day, which was cooked perfectly and well presented. For the price, I got well more than I paid for, as the portion size was large. Even with this large portion size, I still found it easy enough to polish the plate as it was so nice. Thanks to the staff for being attentive and providing a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.
Every Saturday we go to the Guinea Gap Cafe for breakfast. We've been going for years! The breakfasts are always cooked fresh so you do have to wait 10 minutes or so but it is well worth it. If you have any dietary needs just tell Gaynor and she'll do all she can to sort you out. In short... great food, fair prices, and lovely staff.
