What User likes about The Derby Arms:
Lovely piping hot fish and chips with mushy peas were enjoyed by my friend and I in comfortable and spacious dining room. We opted for the 'smaller ' serving which was more than enough. My only criticism was the meal was served in a basket and we would have preferred on a plate and although bread was included we would have preferred brown bread or at least the option. What User doesn't like about The Derby Arms:
I wrote a review of the Thorpeys Fish and chip restaurant further north on the A6 last year where I concluded that the fish and accompanying dishes were OK but were let down by the poor quality of the chips which were soggy and induced indigestion. It seems that nothing has changed with this chain and suggest they use the correct potatoes (Maris Piper). I shall not visit again. View all feedback.
