Amazing food! Would definitely go back and having the museum right there is a great distraction for my young son while we wait for our food!

"After trying Ethiopian in Toronto a few years ago we took the chance to try it again in Yellowknife. The food was excellent and what we assumed was very traditional, however the service was very slow. So if you're expect a quick feed, this is not the place for you."

"Very busy place, reservations are highly recommended.Fish was fresh and delicious. I had the pan fried inconnu (local whitefish from the Great Slave Lake) and tasted the deep fried cod from my friend. Both were winners. They have homemade sauce (on the table) which was slightly sweetish but tangy and flavourful at the same time. The place is full of history and people who have visited from all over the world have left their names and/or notes on the walls or ceiling. Quite interesting. They have local beer and service is quick and efficient considering there was one cook who doubled as cashier, one waitress (Paige) and one busboy for the whole restaurant.Highly recommend!"

"It was a leader in coffee and the coffee experience. It feels more like the standard chain coffee operators. Nothing special. The specialty coffee is automated; nothing like a Battista artist."

"Great spot for a coffee and breakfast. During the warm months you can enjoy the patio and backyard looking on to the lake."

"The Gold Range has an extensive breakfast menu including eggs, waffles, french toast, oatmeal, and all the extras. Service is fast and friendly, meals are generous and prepared just as requested. The ambience is rustic, comfortable but not fancy. It's popular with the locals too, always a good sign."

"Well, my mind was just blown. It's attached to the side of the Colonial InnIt looks like an old Brandon family restaurant."
