"Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Ordered shakshuka, zaatar scone with chutney and salmon on toast and everything was delicious! The scone had a kick to it which made it even better! Food quality is exceptional! Prices are fair especially for the portion you get! Everything was fresh especially the shakshuka was piping hot. I will definitely visit again if I’m in York."

"This restaurant has closed last month, I found out only by opening for my booking. The restaurant has not informed me before and I still received memories from Open Table, they even have sandwich boards that advertise the restaurant at the end of the street! A waste of time and taxi."

"Fish was mainly batter thin cut fillet.The batter was oily and a a little soggy oil coming out I don’t know if when cooked the oil was not hot enough. small portion of chips for nearly £7 not great. Friendly Staff. This business could be great if they had decent fish ie thicker and cooked it properly. Why is it so hard to get good fish in York."

"I attended Source on Friday with my friend and it was a great experience from the service, the recommendations and the food. Some of the best vegan food I ever had and cannot recommend enough. The chef (who created the vegan chicken recipe) is a...genius and needs to open a place in London so I can have Source everyday!"

"I was very excited to try this place for so long, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. I ordered the salt n pepper munch box and each product tasted the same pure salt. Hopefully, I'll get another opportunity to try it when I'm back in York!"

"I stopped at this small beautiful place for the end of my visit in york and it was an amazing place. we had not enough time to enjoy all the dishes so that we tried 5 of them - roasted califove, fried chicken, spicy beef tartar, loaded octopus and lambs boil. fried chicken- it could be the easiest dish of this 5 but was quite tender enough. spicy beefy wetar- my favorites from the 5. it's just so amazing with fresh bark and tasty sauce. the award-winning otopus- it is a drop-small comparison with the price, but the otopus was really tender. the lamb bell. it is tender and juicy. the only part I didn't like so much was that I could still taste the stinking part of the lamb. the service was great and the interieur was cozy and beautiful. I really like this place and come back when I go back to york!"
