"Been waiting to go to Source since before they closed due to the pandemic. We've been in for a smoothie before but I'm so glad they are now open on evenings again. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Fit us in without booking and even baked rather than fried chips for my gluten free wife. On top, the food was superb, with generous portions. Thank you."

"I wore up without reservation and they kindly equipped me with a timeline that was great. I started with the sweet choir and chicken soup that was good, but nothing exciting. I had a last minute change of heart after I saw the char sui on the menu and added the fried mushroom rice. the tear should have cloged in him and for a five it should have, not. it was also a little oily. my head came with steamed brokkoli, which was unfortunately cold. the char sui had too much five seasoned for me and it overwhelmed every other taste. it wasn't like char sui. I finished all my food so it's decent, maybe my expectations were high, I would try it again. updated by previous review on 2022-09-15"

"Great pub above a shop with biggest variety of beer I've ever seen. We didn't eat here, but wished we had as the food looked great. Beer selection brilliant and well kept. Full of character. We will definitely be back."

"We visited early evening prior to going to the Barbican. I ordered a beef dopiaza and shami kebabs for starter. My friend had a meat balti dish and chicken chaat as a starter. We also had popadoms and pickle tray. We were the only diners in the restaurant. To put it mildly my shami kebabs were very small, awful, dry and obviously warmed up from the previous day. My fellow diner said the chicken chaat was tasteless. My dopiaza was not up to what I am used to, high on onions very little meat content. My friend said his Balti was bland. To top it all a waiter leaned over me and started to wipe the table down while we were chatting and finishing our. Our bill came to over £70. They wouldn’t survive in my hometown of Bradford."

"Fantastic place to go with an outstanding atmosphere!! The tunes were excellent and the vibe was perfect. The place is clean and tidy and has two floors, with the ground floor being very busy and alive and the first floor being a more reserved place to be. Drinks were very nice and priced averagely. We will definitely visit again!"

"Been to The Cottage every week, and each time they have never failed me! Tried various meals on the menu and all have been spot on. Amazing service from staff, always a good atmosphere, the outside area (pergola) is comfortable and spacious. All around an...amazing pub with amazing food! The pear and blue cheese salad is a must!! And the black pudding and haggis bon bons are a dream!!! Landlord and land lady Karen and Chris are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them."

"A beautiful and cozy hiding place in york, which is well worth the walk over the stairs (do not see a lift, so if mobility is difficult, I would check that.) the coffee is amazing and truly experienced and well-known baristas. a large selection of coffee too. if they like a mild or a very strong coffee, ask the staff to be a recommendation and disappointed in the sire ypunwont. also a nice cocktail selection, and I enjoyed the Gin Special (gunpowder.) a small but tasty selection of cake also looked tempting. they can sit quietly here on their own faust or visit with some friends."
