Zizzi on Lendal in York is typical of the chain and well located for the city centre and theatre. Portions are generous, the food is hot to the table and in some places you can see it being prepared. Service is friendly and the local graduate artwork is interesting. The Italian bread board starter is plenty for two to share and the delicious carne piccante calzone barely fitted on the plate! What stuartg doesn't like about Zizzi - York:
The temperature in the restaurant was freezing. We had to ask for the air con to be turned off. To be fair they did oblige but we couldn't believe they actually left it running on a cold night in December. Staff friendly and the meal was fine because we got 2 for 1. However at full price I would not go back. This is the third time we've used Meerkat there without any issues. On that basis I recommend if you have it. View all feedback.
