Cash only seafood restaurant. The prefixed dinner menu is a value, but they charge you extra by-the-pound if the weight of the seafood exceeded the weight listed on the prefixed menu. For example, if the prefixed set dinner include a 6 lb king crab and...they end up getting you an 8 lb crab, you have to pay extra for those extra 2 lbs at a hefty price $45/lb). You can also ask them to cook the seafood with a differen... View all feedback.
What Karolann Schulist doesn't like about Fishman Wharf Seafood:
So we found two of these restaurants closed by in the same area but chose this one because of the better price. Web indicates $258 but arrived and found it was actually $298 which is ok if the food is right. Turn out the lobster...bit tasteless. Meat is not fresh. The 1.5 lb fish comes in slices instead of the whole fish as expected. Again the fish slices are not fresh. Suspect they use refrigerated fish slice which... View all feedback.
These seafood are giant and fresh. Many choices in the set menu which are better for a large group. The taste and service are definitely great, but the price could be around $80-100 per person. Staff will show you the seafood after picking them up. It’s highly recommended ;
When your restaurant’s named Fishman Wharf Seafood, there shouldn’t be customers wandering in hoping to get an amazing sweet and sour pork or sizzling beef plate. Indeed, the establishment’s focus is seafood, but in particular, Alaska king crab, which was a bit of a letdown as I really had a hankering for a lobster tower, without the added expense of the crab, and there little options for the tower without the aforementioned crab royalty. <br/ <br/ Moreover, many set meals also includes shark fin and when asked if they can substitute it with something perhaps crab meat? the answer is no, but they can serve it on the side so those who would rather not have it can have their rice plain. Substitutions are definitely not encouraged.<br/ <br/ You really need a group of at least six people to fully enjoy the restaurant – if you can round up a table of ten, even better. They’re known for their set meals and do offer a la carte dishes, but a tower can easily cost $100 on its own, so purchasing everything piece meal is definitely an expensive choice. Also, the restaurant assumes everyone at the table is a hungry teenager as our lobster seafood set for six $258 was more than sufficient for seven of us; if we didn’t stuff our faces, the dinner could have even accommodated an eighth, despite the waitress urging us to add on a chicken.<br/ <br/ The soup and dessert are the slow boiled varieties, both not overly exciting – pork with leafy dried vegetables for the soup and a papaya with white fungus for dessert but at least flavourful and hot enough. <br/ <br/ What I was there for was the eight pound lobster tower, for an extra $10 we changed the preparation ‘fried garlic’ to ‘Hong Kong style’ having heard it’s much tastier. The later still had tons of garlic, but also incorporated deep fried small whitebait fish and a bit of spice. Overall, a decent
An amazing dinner from start to finish! Great service and tasty dishes! Who knew there were so many ways to prepare lobster and king crab?! My personal favourite would be the lobster sashimi, so fresh and sweet. This family dinner wouldn't have been the same without all these amazing food. Oh, and some tasty fried sesame balls to finish the meal!
To me taste of the food is important but not when the service sucks. Worst restaurant that I ever step in. Not worth any star. Reception not acknowledge your presence even they saw you walking in and wait for 2 min. Reserve a table but put you in front of the fish tank that splashing all the time with wet floor. Request to change the table the manager was unwilling and not offer any help/service. So this did not worth to spend extra minute there and left
Great place to go with your family if everyone loves seafood! Went for a King Crab and Lobster dinner for 6-8 people for 7 of us and had plenty of food left at the end to take home. King Crab cooked three ways (deep-fried, garlic steamed and crab-roe scrambled in eggs) were extremely well done. Lobster was gigantic and tasty. Vegetables were fresh. The scallops and clams were good, the steam fish was somewhat disappointing in comparison, and the ribs are OK. With the extra surcharge ($about $50) for extra weight on the King Crab (above the 6 lb listed in the prefixed menu) and only 1 bottle of beer, it comes to $100 Canadian per person, including tips and tax. Remember to bring cash because they don't accept credit cards. All in all, it was good quality meal and reasonable value for money, will visit again.
