"We were here a few times and on every occasion the service was brilliant, the food tasty, the portions huge and the service excellent. We spent a pleasant afternoon at the Brantham Bull with family. Can't rate this place high enough. Gemma was very accommodating and our waiting staff was very, very good."

"A lovely traditional pub with well kept ale. Nice atmosphere and very comfortable. You can sit inside or outside in a few courtyards. They do not do food, but will supply plates and cutlery if you want to order a takeaway and eat there. Next door is a pizza takeaway with outside seating with is also very nice. I would highly recommend."

"A beautiful, historic building which is a true Inn: a good pub with very good bedrooms. It is very clean and stylishly kitted-out. The staff were truly helpful and delightful. The food and drinks were very good. The bedroom was smartly done with a comfortable bed, high quality fittings and a really good shower. I would unhesitatingly go again and I highly recommend this delightful establishment."

"What’s not to like here. There are few few station platform buffets left these days where you can also get a beer. The Manningtree offering has a good selection of beer and a couple of local ales on too £4.50 for a pint of ale at time of writing). Butties were advertised at £4 including a hot drink which seemed great value, although I didn’t indulge. You can’t knock being able to finish a pint and step onto your train within seconds. The staff were friendly too and there are outside seats if it’s a nice day where you can watch the trains. Worth waiting until the next train just to stop by. "Fabulous Sunday lunch, super starter of prawn cocktail with a mains of roast beef and roast pork. Both were delicious served with a good serving of fresh vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. We then tried the Bakewell tart, Jam sponge and sticky toffee pudding all were excellent. Great serves from friendly staff. Thank you for a lovely lunch!"
