"Local friends recommended this place. Unusual decor and quite dark which is a shame as the food surely looked as good as it tasted?We shared several dishes (that's the restaurant's concept, which was explained to us at some length) which were all good, except we were sometimes unsure about which dish was what due to the dim lighting. The pork belly was fabulous!The bill came as a slight shock - it's not a cheap dining choice. Still, I'd come back just to have that pork belly again- maybe during daylight hours."

"I went into amici's last night, it was my restaurant of choice for the 1.5 hours hospital leave I had as a patient. I ordered the entree gnocchi carbonara and the brownie dessert, both as takeaway, and was charged $32.40. At the time I was thinking of contesting it, but fact is: you can't see the desert prices on the outside menu - they're cut off. I was expecting something around $10 on top of the $17 for the entree gnocchi and so was a little surprised. But I didn't want to embarrass myself if that were the right price. It was only later today that I looked online at the TA menu and sure enough, I should have been paying around $23.50-$25.00 (the brownie isn't listed on the menu but all other deserts are listed at $6.50). I know it's not much of Sh overcharge but it makes the difference to me. And a shame because Amici's is my number one pick for pizza in Hobart and I haven't had a bad experience before."

"We are staying in Hobart, and after a quick Google decided to try breakfast here. Boy, am I glad we did. Let's start with her espresso. It's perfect. Her machine is Dialed in and produces the perfect crema. Her expresso is delicate and does not leave a bitter finish. Regarding breakfast. I could eat here the rest of our stay. I had the Slow cooked beef breakfast burrito. The flavor profile was incredible. The spring onion pancake was perfect and not Greasy, the beef was as packed with flavor and the presentation was beautiful. I would absolutely recommend stopping in here and trying the Espresso and Breakfast. Outstanding."

"Walked in without a reservation and was meet with smiling faces taken to a table straight away. They were busy though offered personalised service. Our meals came out quickly all very clean, hot and tasty food. Sizzling beef, seafood combination, duck in plum sauce, dumplings...and soup all highly recommend. Extras given were prawn chips and cut fruit all nice touches. Throughly enjoyed our meal will definitely return."
