"Parking was terrible. the hostess was absolutely wonderful. our server was not. she wasn't taught at all. she lacked personality and even interrupted us to show that she wanted a bigger tipp after she had hardly done anything. they had nothing to do, a simple fuzzy navivel after her (before they even transferred with the bartender). the drink they made was terrible and when my friend let them know that I didn't care, she reacted briefly: “Well, so it is done.” eating was very dirty. I was underwhelmed. the atmosphere was pleasant, although the lights were only a little too low."

"I come to Bar Pilar about once per month, it is one of my favorite restaurants and I often bring people visiting from out of town because of the really good menu, it’s intimate yet eclectic setting and friendly service. I was really disappointed this time and kind of embarrassed with my guest. The service was so slow that I went up to ask where our waiter was. He came and took our order but our entree salmon came out minutes before our starter hush puppies and Brussels sprouts. They did apologize but it really ruined the flow of the dinner. We elected to just end things there and move on. I’ll think twice before going back"

"I went to me Diplomate on a Sunday for a later lunch. They were also offering brunch but I had their regular lunch. I had the Cuban and my friend had the tuna melt. Both were very delicious but I personally liked the tuna melt better. Both meals were served with fires. If you wanted you could upgrade to sweet potato fries for $1. So I would rate our food 4/5. Our service was not amazing. We were waiting a long time for her to show up and check on us. My friend had to go"

"There were a number of issue with this experience. Experienced a rather lengthy wait after being seated just to get water on such a humid evening. Starters came out with no issue. However when the entree we begin brought out, the server actual went to the wrong table and when they turned to come back to our table the swift turn cause the food to drop to the ground. While apologetic it was definitely a significant wait to get the order back out. Moreover the second entree was ordered at temperature was over cooked and there again a significant wait to get the other corrected and back out causing my party not to be able to enjoy dinner together. Ultimately the food was great just hiccups caused an obvious damper"

"From the menu it looked like there were no vegan options that they were listed only as vegetarian. but my server was able to ask about any of the options (and find out which gluten-free were) that was very helpful. she didn't let me feel like an inconvenience and was very enthusiastic about the help. all staff were very friendly, and they are well equipped to help them find a good option on the menu. I had the impossible flesh-dead that was one of the best meal I've ever had. our server has told a lot and it has not disappointed that it came with vegan kartoffels (what they raving about) and green beans. it was very enjoyed and the atmosphere, friendly service and soothing knowledge of the server made it a really pleasant experience. I just wish they would mark the menu!"
