"We had a reservation of 10:30 a.m. and although we enjoyed the experience, it seemed as if the waiting staff tried to overthrow us through our meal. the petite filet must note that they wrap it with speck. not a huge fan of the pork that is accumulated with my bark. the mashing potatoes are not really mashed, but petty kartoffels that are slightly lubricated. the brussel sprouts we great and the oysters were top notch although they need to salin on request. a very good meal and evening."

"I had been at La Queue de Cheval approximately 10 years ago, at its original location. Back then it was a top restaurant/Steak house. Quality, service cleanliness etc. It was outstanding. The idea was to treat my clients with one of Montreal finest steak house...(as I remembered it) but I was less than impressed, in fact I was a little embarrassed for my guests… Of course the $265 Wagyu steak that one of us had was good but it better be at that price! Mine was ONLY a cheap $75 steak which was tough, very fat (not marbled; FAT) and dry. I actually had to work very hard at cutting pieces that weren’t full of nerves. Bone marrow was good, but it would be difficult to not get that right. Service was ok. The ambience was not what I expected; with the owner constantly SCREAMING at his staff on top of the loud Electronic DJ type music which I would expect to be played in a bar were 30 year old's go for happy hour. I went to the washroom downstairs and when I walked back to my table I could not believe it, the carpet in the staircase looked as if it had not been washed in years let alone vacuumed. Just gross. I may be somewhat of a foodie, but certainly not a difficult one. But I’ve been in many steakhouses throughout North America this is NOT one of them, especially as it is so overpriced. Save your money, Montreal has many better choices for restaurants."
