"My husband and I went to get Korean bbq. This place was next to our hotel (Sheraton) so we gave it a go. Bottom line - if you don't look Korean, expect terrible service. I am Korean but don't look it and my husband is not. We noticed a distinctly different service from the other Koreans in the restaurant. We had ordered two portions - one pork, one beef. It started off fine with the beef portion. The waiter cooked everything fine and we were eating. Then a group of Koreans came in and then all that changed. The waiters (who were Mexican) all started to act like chickens with their heads chopped off trying to cater to the Korean group. It wasn't even a big group - just four people. While all that was happening, we had finished our beef, and waited for our waiter to come help us with another grill as otherwise the meat would stick. We waited for a good 10 minutes with the guy not appearing. Then he finally appeared and he went straight to the Korean group to help them out. My husband got his attention finally he came over to put the pork on the grill for us. The waiter put the pork and then he again disappeared. We were talking to each other when we realized again the waiter had been missing for a while and our pork was getting all burnt. I tried to salvage it but they were already all sticking and it was of no use.I went to talk to the manager about this to ask if she could perhaps get another waiter to help us out as we weren't having a good experience there. While I was doing this, the waiter comes over and tries to salvage the meat by scraping the burnt pieces off the grill and putting it on a new grill for us to have. I'm sure it was because he would get in trouble if he took the meat back and asked for a fresh plate, but this was truly despicable. After this, we were in no mood to eat more. I was actually surprised that they gave us a bill with just the pork portion subtracted. I would think that a restaurant would at least give you a discount for a meal halted due to their incompetency but I guess things don't work here like they do back at home."

"My wife and I are Japanese food lovers! An Omakase meal is always an act of faith because you're putting yourself in the hands of the Chef. Having said that, the choices made by our Chef in our last visit to Kyo were The oysters were good but not outstanding, we felt that he overdid the use of the torch on some of the sushi. And unfortunately the rice for the nigiris was not up to the quality of that level of Japanese restaurant. Our waiter was not attentive, many times he was nowhere to be seeing. For the price you pay at Kyo the food and service must be impecable and this was not the case"
