"Being complete amateurs to many African foods, we had no idea what to expect at our initiation to Eritrean cuisine, and were pretty excited to dine at Asmara.The food was truly interesting, some were vaguely reminiscent of other cuisines. My partner ordered the cabbage and meat pastry for entree, which was not unlike Indian samosa, while I went with an avocado salad. He also ordered a mango yogurt drink which was very much like an Indian lassi.Our main course was the tasting platter. It was the first time in our lives we tried injera, the flatbread made from teff flour. We found it really fun using our hands to peel the bread and scoop the dips, which were mysterious but quite tasty.For dessert, we chose a pineapple cake and the battered fried banana, which was like an Indonesian/Malaysian pisang goreng.The only issues were that we felt the portions were rather small, and we had to ask and pay for a top-up of salad. The waiting time for the food was also quite long, but I guess it was worth the wait for the food (just something to note if you're really hungry, or don't like waiting for your meals).Otherwise, we think it's definitely worth a visit to discover Eritrean cuisine."

"I finally found real sushi in france. the price is high, but it is understandable because you couldn't find sashimi of this quality in france. Salmon seemed to be in poor condition, the octopus was a little softer and soy sauce was better, but overall it was good. I almost cried when I was eating tuna. Is this the first real tuna for years? The takara jirashi sushi contained crustaceans, so I expected barley shrimp to come out, but that's not the case. But first of all true sushi in france."

"So, tired and famished after climbing up to and touring Sacre Coeur, my daughters, grandson and I didn't want to descend to dine. We glanced around and saw the awning for Les Perches. We decided to give it a shot, not expecting much. Sacre Boeuf! A mini burger worthy of a Picasso, avocado salad unlike any this Californian had savored before, same with the corn on the cob, but the highlight was the gazpacho, made from green tomatoes. Everyone tasted everyone else's food and we were all equally amazed by the talent and presentation, let alone the taste, of this Canadian transplant's restaurant. Well, he IS French-Canadian, so perhaps it was to be expected! Should be a destination in and of itself."

"Stopped here for a lard lunch on a recent visit to Paris. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. My wife and I both enjoyed the veal stew served on rice. Very tasty and it arrived to the table piping hot. Plenty to eat, but so good we finished it all. Thank you!"
