"I recently visited for breakfast, had a large legend breakfast, however I asked for the bacon to be well cooked as I hate fatty bacon, what do I get.. Fatty salty bacon.. Yukk, eggs were greasy, a whole tin of baked beans, way too much, the sausages were not very nice, the only things nice were the mushrooms and the black pudding, therefore I wasn't impressed and I will not be visiting again 2.5 out of 10 and I'm being generous"

"Through the tintern and discovered this beautiful little place,big service best coffee we had sat outside in a long time we had sitting on the terrace, had a freshly made thunfisch baguette and a disc of the most delicious carrot cake to share."

"What a sound! derek found this place on the phone and I'm so glad he did. I had one of the best lasagnes I've ever had, from the nicest, friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. derek had fish and chips, the fish was huge, with REAL chips! he couldn't finish it and that says something. we sat in their beautiful conned beer garden, surrounded by flowers, under a sunshade that was welcome today. I really recommend this place!"

"Stopped in between meetings for some much needed food opted for the Aromas feast, and feast it was! Nice solid all day breakfast, swapping tomato for Black pudding was helpful and a nice touch. Bacon was particularly nice. Service as a little slow but then the place was packed at 10am so to be expected. Good value food and will me up for rest of day."

"We didn't stay more than a few minutes as the waitress was beyond rude. Obviously I was very unwelcome with my son and my enquiry about a high chair was met with a blunt terse no. She demanded to know if we wanted food before we'd even opened the menu, and as we asked about afternoon tea meaning just a scone and some tea and we're told no you have to give 24 hours notice. We were obviously an inconvenience so moved on."

"We were shopping in Monmouth and had read about The Lion on Tripadvisor so decided we'd try it for lunch. Very pleased we did. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The food was good pub grub and masses of it! Although a little off the beaten track from Monmouth, it was well worth it and we will return."
