"Solo business traveller from UK. Not the best greeting when I arrived requesting a table, the guy at the bar could not be bothered with me from the momrnt I arrived. Despite my efforts of using my limited German to try and make an effort....A lady came and took my drink order while I browsed the menu for what I would like to eat. My pint arrived in good time, however that was where the story ends...Literally. I sat...and sat...and sat. Managing to finish my drink without being approached again. The restaurant was nowhere near full at the time yet it appeared/felt like I was invisible. Got my jacket, put money on the bar for my drink and left. Guy behind the bar didnt care one bit. If I was management I would lose the dead wood and employ people who appreciate the custom that tourism/business travellers provide."

"We went with a couple of friends, a baby and a dog on a Sunny Sunday. We had just bought an ice cream in a shop close by and we were about to finish it when we sat at this place to order some other things. We were extremely surprised as the waitress told us that we had to leave immediately because it is not allowed to bring products from other shops. One of my friends, a baby and myself stood up to finish it while the others were still sitting and taking a look at the menu as the owner (apparently) came out with a horrible attitude and literally kicked us out of the place!!! He didn't event let us talk. I DON'T recommend this place at all. I am pretty sure that if we had spoken German they would have let us stay. It's incredible that there are still people like this that have NO IDEA how to treat their customers and prefer to lose clients instead of trying to be nice."

"I liked my cappuccino, but this is not a hang-out-on-your-laptop kind of cafe. The servers treated us well. If you want to sit, sip, and read, then this cafe is very comfortable. They have a large selection of coffee beans, and if I lived in Potsdam, then I would certainly try buying my beans from them."

"Wir waren zum vierten mal im Butt.Bisher waren die Erfahrungen sehr gemischt - von wirklich gut (der Chef kochte selbst) bis mittelmäßig. Heute war es das letzte mal, denn der Fischteller war eine Katastrophe. Sicher war der Fisch gut, doch alles schwamm in einer Masse, die nichts mit Kräutersauce gemein hatte. Es war eine klebrige Pampe aus unverkochtem Weißwein und Andickmittel, recht Kräuterlikör. Darin lag der gedünstete (oder gekochte) und nicht gut abgetropfte Fisch, der sie Sauce zudem mit Wasser durchzog. Das Essen ging zurück; Unverständnis beim Koch.Steak und Suppe waren in Ordnung, wenn auch die Sauce zum Steak aus der Packung kam und mit Estragon "verfeinert" wurde. Neben unserem Tisch speiste noch eine Dame, alle weiteren Tische waren leer.Beim von uns als erstes angesteuerten Hausmannskost-Wirt und dem Italiener um die Ecke waren keine Plätze frei..."

"The location is great. Cafe is facing a walking street and has a nice outside setting. It was crowded, so we had to wait for table. The menu was in English and as for cafe it had a good selection of dishes. The service was...excellent. Can recommend this place."

"Nach einem langen Shoppingtag in Berlin entschieden meine Freundin und ich, zum Abschluss im Alex etwas Essen zu gehen. Wir wurden schnell und sehr freundlich bedient. Die Getränken kamen ebenso schnell, wie die bestellte Vorspeise und anschließend auch das bestellte Hauptgericht. Die Vorspeise "Bruschetta klassik" war lecker, hätte aber für meine Geschmack noch etwas mehr gewürzt sein müssen. Die bestellten Burger samt Pommes waren auch gut, wobei auch hier der Koch ruhig etwas mehr würzen dürfen. Aber für Systemgastronomie war es absolut akzeptabel. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, wenn auch zwischendurch etwas aufdringlich. Im großen und ganzen kann man das Alex durchaus empfehlen, wenn man sich nicht lange auf die Suche nach einem Restaurant machen will. Die Lage im SonyCenter am Potsdamer Platz ist natürlich super."
