What are the top rated restaurants in Québec where I can eat Bagel?

"We had heard that Avenue Cartier had many nice restaurants, so the four of us walked there from our hotel in search of a nice restaurant for dinner. We wound up at Cafe Krieghoff which had high dining ratings. We sat in the back of the restaurant, conversed, reviewed the menu and made our selections. Three had salad dishes, which were featured on the menu; I had the day's special: Tandoori chicken. My wife asked what turned out to be a prescient question: "Why would you order an Indian dish in a non-Indian restaurant?" I responded, "Because it's the day's special and they obviously must know what they're doing." Wrong! I was expecting a quarter of a chicken -- or cut pieces -- with that beautiful red Tandoori kiln-baked color. What appeared were 7 small flat medallion pieces of grilled chicken with a brown something on top. The chicken was dry and tasteless. Accompanying the chicken on the plate was a small cup of white rice -- tasteless with no sauce or seasonings. Third, several pieces of steamed cauliflower and carrots. The cauliflower again was overcooked and soggy. No color on the plate except for the carrots; no taste. I barely touched the meal. When the waitress saw I at the end of the meal that I had eaten very little, she asked if there was anything wrong. I told her the plat principal was terrible. A few minutes later the maitre di (or owner) came to the table and again asked if anything was wrong. I replied, "If I owned a restaurant I would be embarrassed to serve a meal like this to my customers"; and then, I explained the deficiencies. She said she would see what she could do. Ultimately, they subtracted the cost of the bottled water for me and my wife. Perhaps the stars need to be aligned specially to yield such an unpleasant dining experience, or perhaps one simply should not order Tandoori Chicken in a non-Indian restaurant"

"This chance choice of this restaurant was a pleasant and memorable experience. The waiter, Dominic, and waitress, Patricia, were more than helpful with guiding us through the meal and informing us about dinner selections. The blood pudding with leek was a first experience for us and is was tasteful and delicious! The halibut with the homemade tator tots and broccoli was excellent. The sauce on both dishes added to the delightful meal. Would absolutely go back!! Don't pass this experience by!"

"Unbelievably bad and impossibly slow service. Waited over 45 minutes for four toasted bagels. We inquired 4 times. No updates or apologies from any of the 7 staff present. Twice, (after we inquired when the food was coming (30 minutes later) someone came to the table to tell us our original order wasn’t available. We finally left after almost an hour, with no food.Doesn’t matter how good the bagels are, if you can’t even get them. Waste of precious vacation time."

"We had a late lunch here on a Friday. The atmosphere of the area is nice. We ate outside. The server was happy to work with us in English. We both ordered off the breakfast menu. I thought my portion was small for the price,...but my hubby’s seemed more reasonable. The dessert deserves 6 stars, not five!!"

"The BEST place to get bagels from! They have so many delicious menu options and they make the bagels fresh right in front of you! The #1 thing I loved about this place was the service. I’ve been working on my French and the server was so incredibly welcoming and helpful and did not judge me at all for struggling with French! She makes me want to get even better so I can come back and feel more comfortable ordering and chatting. What a lovely place to be, and they’re open right at 7am! Thank you thank you to all the staff for running the best spot in the city"

"This little caffe in the heart of the old town could feed me! I explained zöliakie and the server helped me choose what I could eat from the menu. I had grilled salmon, rice and sweet mix. it was absolutely delicious. So, one of those places that do not intentionally gf, but can certainly work with me what is all I want!"
