"Silva 's is probably the best bakery you will find in at least 200 miles in any direction. Harry Sarkees was the Chief Baker at the Kennedy Center before he opened his own shop. He and his mother (Silva) use only the finest ingredients to create and prepare everything in the shop. Nothing comes from elsewhere. His breads are magnificent, his pastries and cookies melt in your mouth. His latest item, Halavah, is the best I 've had since leaving New York City in the 1950s, and their Marzipan, what can I say, I love it! As an aside, did you know that while you can buy 'French bread ' in Paris, you can 't buy a 'Baguette ' there! Huh? Well, seems like a bakery that wants to call its bread a Baguette MUST, by law, bake it on the premises, and there is no longer a Patisserie in Paris that does that. Well, Silva 's does 100% fantastic."
