"Visiting Godalming for the first time, The Star quickly became my favourite pub. Very old building, around 200 years old with few changes. Small bar at front but extends back to a further bar and garden. Very welcoming staff and very busy. i am a Camra member and by chance, visited during an ale festival. Around 40 ales on offer, usually around 15. Lots of choice and some of my favourites. Will definately return."

"Lovely little cafe in nice location by the pond. Shame about the hot dogs we had, very disappointing, no onions served in baguette and the sausage was so dry and crusty it was like it had been cooked the day befor and kept warm. Expensive too at £17.60 for tea, hot choc and 2 hot dogs."
