"We have never had a bad experience at Shady Oaks. Until last night. Party of 4, we were seated in near bar. I. guess the bartender had to do double duty, she was not a friendly server, it was not busy in this area, she had no more than 2 tables of r people at one time while we were there, never offered refill on anything but water, we all had sodas or margaritas. Food came out with hot sides, cool meat. the brisket was the driest I've ever had there. Between the unfriendly server and brisket, I was horribly sad. we brought out-of-town friends here. We told them it's the best around. We arrived at 5pm on a Thursday night. it was not busy at all. very disappointing, to say the least."

"Had a reservation for 8pm; wasn't seated till 820pm. Didn't receive beverage ordered, till 20 minutes after ordering. Service was slow (refills, etc. The restaurant had the same waiters/waitresses work 1st and 2nd floor. Waited an hr and 10 mins for our main course, before deciding to leave. Tables were very close and packed in. Won't be returning, even being a Landry's member."

"Great steak house in a beautiful saloon setting. The wood-fired sirloin steak, medium rare, was cooked to perfection. It comes with a salad and baked potato, which are delicious as well. Beware that the wood-roasted salsa, which we had as a starter, is pretty spicy. The pecan pie for dessert is a bit too sweet for my taste but still very enjoyable when combined with ice cream. Overall, for lunch or dinner at the Fort Worth Stockyards, H3 is probably the best option."

"A couple weeks ago we were doing a lot of stuff in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. Ian and I had driven by what was claimed in Google to be an El Pollo Loco (but wasn’t). We found ourselves in the Stockyards area, and drove past Cooper’s, and had to stop in. Cooper’s has a lot of potential. You order your meat first, then some sides, then sit down at long tables family style. Your Q is on butcher paper."
